Historical challenge records
Each published challenge carries a source link and the game/play identifiers for its starting state. A game recap can establish the event and result; a play-by-play record is preferable for the exact clock, field position, down and timeouts.
The initial catalog contains 14 independent historical situations from the 2024 season. The recorded start is preserved; the player's next call begins a new simulated branch.

nflverse play-by-play and model changes
The current 14 initial challenge starts are extracted from explicit game and play IDs in the nflverse play-by-play releases. The outcome samples are trained on 2023 records; 2024 records are used for held-out descriptive validation and historical starts.
Credit: nflverse contributors. The repository is published under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International. Game changes include filtering, aggregating broad play categories, pooling sacks and adding declared durations and challenge objectives.
Underlying NFL data rights remain subject to their respective owners and terms, as noted in the nflverse terms of use. Repository licensing does not grant rights to team logos, player likenesses or endorsement.
Rules and interpretation
The NFL's official rulebook is a reference for real football. The game's supported subset and timing assumptions are described in Methodology. The game is not an officiating simulator.
Historical seasons can use different rules. A challenge must state when a modern simplified rule layer is used instead of reconstructing every rule from its original season.
Interface and collectible assets
The field, interface and collection artwork are part of this independent project. Historical names identify the situation; no official team logo or league endorsement is included. Visual reference material is not redistributed as game artwork.
This candidate uses Barlow Condensed for display text, licensed under the bundled SIL Open Font License. Other prototype fonts are not part of this candidate's font delivery.
What a source does not prove
A repository, dataset or recap can support a particular fact without validating every model assumption. We do not present generated outcomes as actual play-by-play or use a source link to imply endorsement.
